Cygnus is a Prairie Coastal Cruiser 36, built by Prairie Boat Works in Florida in 1980. She is hull #23 to come out of this mold. The same molds were later used to build the Atlantic 37.
Cygnus is powered by two 1982 Perkins T-6.354M 200 HP turbo diesel engines spinning 21″ x 20″ 4-bladed bronze propellers.
The hull is designed as a shallow-draft semi-displacement form ideally suited to travelling the inside passages of the Great Loop, Down East Loop and Intracoastal Waterway in comfort, if not speed.
The layout is a “sundeck” trunk-cabin configuration with full controls at the upper helm on the flying bridge and below in the saloon. Cygnus has a full galley with electric stove, refrigerator and microwave. There is a master berth (sleeping area) with full centerline bed and private head (bathroom) with a full-size tub and a forward “vee” berth with its own private head with shower.
