Sunday, March 5th brought us to where we turned off the Tennessee River and started South down the Tennessee/Tombigbee Waterway.
Our only lock today, Wilson, featured an unusual gate that lowered to let boats into the lock.
This lock lowered us over 90 feet.
For our last 10 miles or so on the Tennessee River, we followed the border between Alabama and Mississippi. At the end of the day, we turned West to start down the Tennessee/Tombigbee Waterway.
Our anchorage for the night was Lucy’s Cove, one of several options before we entered the man-made land cut of the waterway.
On day 4 we traveled 51 nautical miles, for a trip total of 227 miles.
